Hilariously dramatic clip shows North Korean officials CRYING after Thunderbirds-style rocket launch
North Korea's state-run television KRT today aired a video of its leader Kim Jong-un watching the country's recent rocket launch.
The hilariously dramatic footage shows the North Korean leader watching the launch with several other officials - complete with cheesy theme music, of course.
One particularly cringe-worthy moment in the footage shows state leaders bursting into tears as they witnessed the event.
North Korea said it put a satellite into orbit on February 7, but the US and its allies see the launch as a cover for Pyongyang's development of ballistic missile technology that could be used to deliver a nuclear weapon across the Pacific Ocean.

Awestruck: Kim Jong-un watches the launch
The launch by North Korea, just weeks after the country's fourth nuclear test on January 6, has met a frosty international reception, particularly from its neighbours and the US.

The UN Security Council has strongly condemned the launch and promised to take action, while Washington has vowed to ensure the 15-nation body impose "serious consequences" on Pyongyang as soon as possible.

Launch: North Korea broadcasts the video of the event
Earlier this week, it was reported that Kim Jong-un executed his military chief after accusing him of corruption.
The dictator has removed a number of senior officials in recent months for 'crimes' such as treason and watching South Korean soap operas.

Cheesy: The video even came with its own Thunderbirds-style music
Military chief Ri Yong Gil had been chief of the general staff for Kim Jong-un's regime since he was appointed to the role in August 2013.
It is not yet known how he was killed.
