Last rites of Lance Naik Hanamanthappa to be performed tomorrow at Dharwar, Karnataka
Lance Naik Hanamanthappa Koppad, who was rescued alive after being buried under snow for six days in the world's highest battlefield, the Siachen glacier, died today. He died at 11.45 am today. A wreath laying ceremony was held at Delhi's Brar Square today, where Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and the three service chiefs were present. The soldier's last rites will be performed at his home town in Dharwar, Karnataka on Friday.
